The Sunhak Peace Prize (선학평화상) is a biennial international award established to continue the legacy of Sun Myung Moon, founder of the Unification Church. Awarded in Seoul, Korea, it recognizes individuals and organizations making enduring contributions to resolving global issues like suffering, conflict, poverty, and environmental threats.The prize, founded by Sun Myung Moon's widow, Hak Ja Han Moon, serves as an alternative to the Nobel Peace Prize, honoring his ideals of peace. Its vision is centered on sustainable human development, conflict resolution, and ecological conservation. The selection process is overseen by the Sunhak Peace Prize Selection Committee, currently chaired by José Manuel Barroso, former President of the European Commission. The prize is organized by the Sunhak Peace Prize Foundation and is also reportedly associated with the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).The Prize’s "Tenets of Peace" advocates for three main objectives: Respect for Human Development (focusing on welfare, poverty relief, and disease eradication), Conflict Resolution (engaging in resolving conflicts across religions, ethnicities, and nationalities), and Ecological Conservation (preserving the natural environment for sustainable balance).

Wanjira Mathai is a renowned Kenyan environmentalist and activist who currently serves as the Managing Director for Africa and Global Partnerships at the World Resources Institute (WRI). She carries forward the legacy of her mother, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai, by serving as the Chair of the Wangari Maathai Foundation and the former Chair of the Green Belt Movement (GBM).Her work is focused on advancing environmental restoration and climate resilience across Africa. Through her leadership in the GBM, over 51 million trees have been planted. A key initiative she spearheads is the AFR100 (African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative), which aims to restore 100 million hectares of degraded land in Africa by 2030. Recognized for her impact, she was named to TIME’s TIME100 list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023 and is the recipient of the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize.

Hugh Evans is an Australian humanitarian and development advocate renowned as the Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen, a massive movement committed to ending extreme poverty. His passion was ignited at age 14 after spending a night in a slum in Manila, Philippines.This experience led him to co-found the Oaktree Foundation, Australia's first youth-run aid organization, and later the Global Poverty Project, which evolved into Global Citizen. He is the mastermind behind the annual Global Citizen Festival, a free, ticketed music event that requires fans to take anti-poverty actions in exchange for entry. Under his leadership, Global Citizen has mobilized millions of actions, securing billions in commitments to defeat poverty and defend the planet. He is a recipient of the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize and was named Young Australian of the Year in 2004.

Patrick Awuah, Jr. is a Ghanaian engineer, educator, and entrepreneur celebrated as the Founder and President of Ashesi University in Accra, Ghana. A former Program Manager at Microsoft Corporation, he left a successful career to return to his native Ghana and establish Ashesi in 2002 with the mission to educate the next generation of ethical and entrepreneurial African leaders.Ashesi University introduces a groundbreaking model that integrates STEM-focused learning and a liberal arts tradition with training in ethical leadership. The university is known for fostering an environment of integrity, notably implementing Africa's first university-wide honor code. Awuah's vision has led to over 90% of Ashesi graduates securing quality employment or launching successful ventures, with the alumni helping to drive sustainable development across Africa. His efforts have earned him numerous honors, including the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship in 2015 and the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize.
