Robert Burns Humanitarian Award

Robert Burns Humanitarian Award

The Robert Burns Humanitarian Award (RBHA) is presented annually near Robert Burns' birthday to an individual or group whose selfless actions have saved, improved, or enriched the lives of others or society. This recognition honors contributions made through self-sacrifice, charitable work, hands-on volunteering, or other significant acts of service. The winner receives a symbolic 1759 guinea—representing Burns' birth year and the currency of the time—and a bespoke Scottish-crafted award.A distinguished panel, chaired by David Anderson of South Ayrshire Council, selects the recipient. The judges include media figures (Kaye Adams, John Cairney), Burns specialists (Nat Edwards, Robert Stewart), past winners (Habib Malik, Guy Willoughby), and corporate leaders (Rob Woodward of STV).
