The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, established in 2002 is one of the highest honors presented by the Television Academy's Board of Governors. The award is given to an individual in the telecommunications industry whose philanthropic efforts exemplify Bob Hope's decades-long altruism and positive impact on society. The award is given by the Television Academy and the Bob & Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation to a qualified individual in the television industry, whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry and whose deeds and actions have a lasting impact on society.

Sean Penn is a two-time Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker, author and has become an American icon in a career spanning over four decades.
As co-founder of the emergency relief nonprofit CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), Penn's work has come into sharp focus. First established in January 2010 in the immediate aftermath of the catastrophic Haiti earthquake, CORE continues to bring immediate aid and recovery to underserved communities across the globe. Surprisingly, it was in Penn's own backyard that CORE's work evolved in 2020 to become so essential.

George Clooney is an American actor, director, producer, screenwriter, activist, businessman, and philanthropist. He has received three Golden Globe Awards for his work as an actor and two Academy Awards, one for acting in Syriana (2006) and the other for co-producing Argo (2012).
Clooney made his acting debut on television in 1978, and later gained wide recognition in his role as Dr. Doug Ross on the long-running medical drama ER from 1994 to 1999, for which he received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. While working on ER, he began attracting a variety of leading roles in films, including the superhero film Batman & Robin (1997) and the crime comedy Out of Sight (1998), in which he first worked with director Steven Soderbergh, who would become a long-time collaborator. In 1999, he took the lead role in Three Kings, a well-received war satire set during the Gulf War.

He created and starred in one of the most successful and long running situation comedies in the history of American network television.
In addition to guest roles on many of the comedy, talk and musical variety programs of his time, his legacy includes a lifelong dedication to fundraising for charity.

Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she has been ranked the richest African-American, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is North America's first multi-billionaire black person.
