Humanitarian Satellite Award
The International Press Academy annually presents the Humanitarian Satellite Award, a special achievement category within the Satellite Awards, to recognize entertainment industry professionals for their humanitarian contributions that have a positive impact on the artistic community and society at large through community service, charitable endeavors, and social issue advocacy. The award, which was first given out at the 15th Annual Satellite Awards in 2010, highlights endeavors that go beyond professional achievements in journalism, film, or television, such as direct philanthropy, documentaries that address international conflicts, or narratives that highlight underrepresented voices and sociopolitical issues.
